Nearby our store there is a café called 'In 7th heaven'. It is a nice place, many people go there, primarily students as it seems.
Apart from good coffee and tea you can order all kind of alcoholic drinks and soft drinks. They serve even some food. They do delicious toasts and quiches and you can get something sweet as well. This is also one of the few places where you can order a good carrot cake.
The prices are a bit higher than usual, but considering the place it is situated (Zborovska, Prague 5) the prices are actually ok.
There is a free wi-fi available for most of the day as well.
The place can be quite noisy when there are many people, but most of the time you can find a spot where it's a bit more quiet (either downstairs or upstairs in one of the
corners).
They are open till 1am.

Note: in terms of what they have there I would give them 5/5 as there is nothing missing for me. But I need to lower the score for the fact that it can be pretty noisy and the environment is not something I would actually like. Loving Hut - vegan restaurant
Loving Hut is an international vegan cuisine and can be also found in the Czech Republic. We have one nearby so I just had to try it (there are three in Prague in total).
Loving Hut international was initiated by Chinese humanitarian activist Ching Hai. So if you like vegetables and don't really need to eat meat and you don't mind Chinese food you can try this restaurant out. You can get there - spring rolls, meals with tofu prepared in various ways that can even taste like meat, different kind of soups, bamboo shoots, sushi etc.
All the meals have a really strong taste but it does not ruin anything. It tastes well and seems to be in harmony. I never ate tofu prepared in a such way before and it surprised me that it can taste so well. Even just cooked vegetables taste really well there.
The restaurants are cheap in 'Prague' terms and the people there are really nice.

Leica Gallery
If you are looking for a nice cafe and a bit of photography/art I recommend you to go to Leica gallery that can be found at Školská 28, 110 00, Prague 1. It is a small cafe that serves some good coffee, excellent nettle and elderflower drinks and the best Sahlep in Prague (ok, this might be exaggerated but it is worth it anyway)^_^.
Right now you can go there and see Tereza of Davle exposition called Grandhotel.

Restaurant Impuls - Pilsen
The Magic: The Gathering National Qualifiers took place in a restaurant IMPULS located at Sokolovská 48. From some people I heard that this place used to be really bad and that they don't look forward to playing there. When I got there though I realized that this place is far better than I expected.
Actually there is a arcades' hall and bowling bar Impuls and that place really looks terrible. It wasn't the place we were heading though (might be possible that this is the place people were talking about). If you go down the stairs along the building there is a restaurant of the same name - Impuls (I don't know if the two are ONE place or two different) and that is the one we ended up playing the NQ.
The restaurant serves Italian food - pizzas, pasta etc even though I did not see any sign that the place is actually a 'Pizzeria'.
When we got there we were surprised that the place is actually pretty big. There's a lot of space everywhere, the place is quite clean but nothing special. Don't expect an Italian styled restaurant. There is place for 60 people in the room.
The first thing I did was ordering a cappuccino. I did not expect anything good but the quality of the coffee surprised me. It wasn't the kind of coffee I buy when I want a good quality coffee but it was highly above standard for Czech restaurants (even those calling themselves Italian).
I ordered a salad with fried chicken. The vegetable was fresh and tasted good. The chicken was well flavored and was of higher quality. For dinner I ordered gnocchi with different kind of cheeses. It was delicious. Far better than in most so called Italian restaurants.
With this entry I would like to praise this place and the chef. The place is probably in the middle of nowhere and you probably won't find a reason why to go there. But if by a chance you happen to be around, go check it out. The food is good and is worth it.

Where to enjoy some tea... - Bily Jerab
It is quite unusual but Czech Republic has many tea rooms, a place where you can drink high quality tea from Asia. I used to go to a tea room once, twice a week. I visited many tea rooms across the Czech Republic. Some I visit still (U dvou salku - Namesti Miru) some I don't (Dobra Cajovna, Vaclavske namesti) and some I never wanted to go again (Ruzova cajovna, Mesicni kocka).
Lately I give my preference to Bily Jerab located at Svandovo Divadlo tram station (Stefanikova, Prague). The tea room is in the basement. The place is welcoming and calm (the capacity is not big). The people are nice and the choices of teas are good. They have high quality Chinese and Japanese teas (they have the milk fermented oolong for example which is quite rare to get here). You can get taste some Vietnamese teas, get the classical Indian and Turkish teas etc. There are also flavored teas, mates and sahleps. They serve several kinds of couscous and some cookies (even macha cookies - cookies made from the 'tea' macha).
If you like good teas and calm places where to chat or spend your time, pay visit to this place (if you haven't done that already). It's quite hidden but when you find it I think you will enjoy it the same way I do.

Cafe Imperial
Czech people most probably know Zdenek Pohlreich. Foreigners might not. Pohlreich has become very famous because of one TV show where he is criticizing and giving advices to different restaurant managers.
He is working as a chef at Hotel Imperial and that is were we were headed today.
Hotel Imperial is a 5 star hotel in a Art deco building in the center of Prague (Na Porici 15, Prague 1). From the outside the building does not really look inviting but inside you will find out that the building is still decorated in the original art deco style and that makes it unique and special in a way.
In the restaurant you can choose from not so varied menu which (as Polhreich says) is not a disadvantage but a good thing to have if the food is of a high quality and tastes really well.
This is one of the places where you can go and order a delicious Czech meal (of course other meals are delicious too).
The food has a lot of flavor and is well prepared. It is the taste/flavor that is the most important for Pohlreich. Not the way it looks (why decorate a meal with something that does not go well with?).
The coffee served there comes from Lavazza company and I really like this kind of coffee (as you probably know from previous post). So that's another plus^_~.
If you are looking for a good place to have a really tasty meal that you can enjoy I advise you to try this place. The place is full all the time so you need to reserve your place though.

Where to get a coffee? Lavazza Cafe
It's been some time that I go to Lavazza cafe at Metropole Zlicin, Prague to have a good coffee or desert. The place is nice and is actually quite calm which is surprising (especially now when so many people "go out" shopping). You can either sit on a sofa or a chair as you like.
They have a wide variety of coffees and each cup of coffee is a small miracle^_~. The company is not afraid to do experiments, to do extensive researches and come up with what people desire. Thus you can try out different kinds of coffee that you haven't tasted yet. All coffees can be served decaffeined.
They also invented their own kind of 'subdivided' cup into which certain foams would be inserted (thus individually) - hazelnut, chocolate and whole milk (check it out, it's at least interesting if you don't want to try it). These would be then served along with the coffee.
What I would like to point out is also their design. Always renewed and really good - modern and innovative.

Subway (Czech Republic)
I've always enjoyed Subway 'restaurants'. In US it was one of my favorites and I still enjoy their food in the UK, Germany and Austria. For the past month I've been passing by Subway located at Narodni Trida. I decided to go there today.
I asked if I can order what I want. Not that anyone would actually tell me from what I can choose. Anyway I ordered chicken teriyaki, then I wanted some bacon and chedar cheese. The girl doing the sandwich for me did not hear me even though I tried telling her what I want several times and quite loudly. She just went on ignoring my order.
They did add what I asked for later though.
What I did not appreciate much was the choice of the sauces. In general the primary choices were ketchup, mayonnaise and two different kinds of mustard - not something I would expect at Subway. Not to mention that usually there are more choices of what you can get in Germany and UK (at least what concerns types of cheese and vegetables).
There's not so much place in the restaurant at Narodni Trida and I did not even like the setup.
Anyway the last issue is the price. I ordered a half of the sandwich and it cost me 125CZK which I find a lot for something like that when it can't even reach the quality of Subway in neighbor country.

Don Miguel's bar
If you don't know where to go out to eat in Brno you can try out Don Miguel's restaurant. They serve South American dishes and they are really delicious. The personnel is well educated and polite. The only minus would be the fact that the place probably won't count as calm (compared to other Mexican restaurants I went to it could be though).

Rebio restaurant
At Brno's Velky Spalicek shopping mall there is a vegetarian/healthy (fast) food restaurant called Rebio. I had the chance to visit it and taste some really great meals and now I wish there would be one Rebio restaurant in Prague^_^.
There is a wide variety of meals you can choose from and they all taste good (salads, main dishes, desserts). For the time being the price is more or less 21CZK per 100g.
What is the most awesome thing is that you can get meals not containing gluten. The meals are well balanced for vegetarians so there's no problem going there every day. You'll get all what your body needs.
You can also get some bio desserts (not containing eggs) if you like. That looked great.

Makakiko - a "Japanese" restaurant?
Today my sister wanted to go to Makakiko a "Japanese" restaurant in a new Shopping Center in Prague. So me and our mother joined her.
When I entered the restaurant I almost bumped into two Chinese waitresses and already took this as a bad sign.
On one of the walls you could see some Japanese/Chinese characters along with some Korean I can't read. One of the words that caught my eyes was Shanghai and just next to it ramen written in Japanese. WTH?
Anyway I order ramen - or at least something - that was supposed to be ramen and I got o soup with not really good chinese noodles, CZECH MUSHROOMS!!!, broccoli and baby carrots. The whole soup tasted as well....mushrooms. Even getting them out of the soup did not really help.
After this I tried few makis. I tried Kappa Maki and I wasn't really sure if the green thingy inside was cucumber. It did not taste that way. Other maki were as well quite incertain of taste. I was completely upset and did not want to try anything else. Even though I tried a bit of salad and I started to feel an allergic reaction to it so I gave up on that and continued drinking my jasmin tea.
My mother ordered Yakitori which probably have not ever seen Japanese yakitori...and I should not even comment on the menu (as those Chinese people probably don't know their spelling right)
All this just to say that this is probably the worst choice of a Japanese restaurant in the area, so beware.

Burger King and WorldMax
Today, I got a day off from work and I decided to spent at least half of the day playing PIU NX2.
So I got up in the morning and headed off to Metropole Zlicin where are NX2 machine is located.
I arrived to the arcades. No one was there so I wasn't sure if it is open or not. I entered after a while not being entirely sure if I can enter. But no one started yelling at me to back off. So I came to the PIU NX2 machine.
I played few CZ songs to warm myself up. The waiter sitting at the counter was watching me. I played few nightmares and then I looked behind myself to check if he is still watching or not. Actually it seemed that he took a video of me playing so I quickly looked back.
After that he came to me and asked me "you don't stand on this for the first time, do you?". I replied simply "no". Then he continued "It's your machine, right?", so I was like "Yup". After that I asked he if he wants to try it but he said no to that offer.
I continued and played WorldMax mostly. Achievement of the day...I somehow I have NO IDEA how managed to pass 2 4 level missions in Mirtain. One was something played on NM with blinking arrows and some other mods. The objective was clear the song and I managed that to my surprise! The other mission was much worse. It was something on freestyle with reverse, flip (in both directions) and some really slow speed mod. I was like WTF??? When I first played it because I was getting miss combo and I did not know why...but later on I found out what the hell was going on and managed to clear the mission. After the first mentioned mission I got to Harena and cleared few missions there.^_^
After getting stuck in Harena I went back to Barharn and cleared few missions there. Swearing as hell on Dr. M CZ with speed items. It started with 0.5, than there was 3x and 4x. So I took both and I tried to avoid the rest. But in the middle of one stream there was nasty 1x. Next few tries ended up the same way. The next try I managed to get past this and I was so happy this part was past me..and I stepped on 8x resulting in another "hey, why don't you get up and dance man?". After few more times I got the mission cleared. ^_^
At noon I went outside to get some food but there was a press conference about Burger King opening its first location in the Czech Republic. I stayed there and listened. I found out few interesting things. Like that the first Burger King was opened in 1975 in Spain and that there are like 11million people served each day. That Burger King has in some countries special "localized" Whopper. That means that it is done from something that is unique for the country. Example is Japanese Whopper with teriyaki sauce. I also found out that they've got a really good price for this location (1000EUR) which makes it possible to have about the same prices as the concurrence (109CZK for the Whopper menu which is the same price you will pay for Big Mac for example). We also learned that the company running Burger King here has no limitations to the number of locations and that of course the most important thing is the profit. Thus as many new locations as it is good for a good natural growth of the company (meaning good profit, you see).
Burger King in Europe is pretty widespread (if I understood correctly it is in 75 countries in total). The latest locations in Europe are in Romania, Bulgaria and well the Czech Republic.
We also got information about the Whopper itself. It being made of 100% beef, that is grilled on real open fire. That's why it tastes so good. That you can customize your whopper. So if you don't like cucumber you will get it without it. Of course the option of "with bacon" and "with cheese" are there as well. These burgers are mainly for males^_~ and for the females they've got some light sandwiches (chicken roll is the preffered choice as he said) and salads.
After the press conference and questions, the first Burger King location in the Czech Republic was opened.

In the subway I took out my Level magazine and continued reading article about Minorities in Gaming. A few youngsters entered the subway and were chatting quite loud about the new cool Guitar Hero game. They probably meant GHWT but I'm not sure if the game is out here (I got quite far in the game and it starts to annoy me...because playing 6-7 songs on Expert in one row is just.....TOO MUCH). So it was quite nice to listen to them. Later on a few other people entered the train and they saw that I read a preview about Tomb Raider Underground. They started to speak about Level vs Score - our leadeing Czech gaming magazines. (I was reading Level and they were mostly pro-Score readers for some reason).
Few more young people were talking about FIFA and PES and it felt quite nice to hear people talking about games. It's been quite a while that I heard someone speaking about something "normal" not some GH, Rock Band, Wii Music, WiiFit and other stuff like that.
I arrived home quite happy and I was sure that the what I have to say (which is written here) won't interest anyone in this building and I was right about that. It makes me sad and upset at the same time. I know that talking about Worldmax missions can be pretty annoying but hell wish I could share my experience with someone. And too bad that I'm not that good player. I'm at 18 percent and most missions kill me for the first time I play them.
So thanks for reading to those who actually managed to read the whole entry. It was a good day. Now it is time to pack some dance pads.

Few more young people were talking about FIFA and PES and it felt quite nice to hear people talking about games. It's been quite a while that I heard someone speaking about something "normal" not some GH, Rock Band, Wii Music, WiiFit and other stuff like that.
I arrived home quite happy and I was sure that the what I have to say (which is written here) won't interest anyone in this building and I was right about that. It makes me sad and upset at the same time. I know that talking about Worldmax missions can be pretty annoying but hell wish I could share my experience with someone. And too bad that I'm not that good player. I'm at 18 percent and most missions kill me for the first time I play them.
So thanks for reading to those who actually managed to read the whole entry. It was a good day. Now it is time to pack some dance pads.

Ambiente
Today we went (my family Xsoft and Peter) to a restaurant called Ambiente. There are more restaurants of this name and each is dedicated to a different cuisine. The restaurant we went to today can be found in Slovansky dum near Wenceslav's Square.
My father ordered a menu. So that means we had starters of our choice. You could choose a starter at a buffet. All kind of salads, vegetables, fruit and other smaller dishes could be found there. I personally enjoyed a tuna salad with mais and peas. After that I had a delicious potato salad. I still wanted to taste something and discovered sushi. It was fresh, well done. Soya sauce and strong wasabi was available as well. (*Heaven*)
After all those salads they started tasting of all kinds of different meats. Duck meet, beef, pork, lamb etc prepared in different ways. We could even taste grilled trout and carp.
After all that meat (literally) that was served with different kinds of bread, fried banana and potatoes we decided to head on desserts. We tried one with coconut flavour and one with marakuja. I have to say that the one with Marakuja was light and refreshing. The taste was really interesting, but good. Later on I tried Vanilla icecream with pistachio and hot dark chocolate. Simply delicious.
The meals in the restaurant are tasting really good. You will explore a lot of different ways how to prepare a meat. Starters were awesome as well.
The only negative thing about this restaurant is that it is usually pretty busy there and it's in constant motion.
